Ripley's Believe It or Not!Get ready to view jaw-dropping oddities and artifacts from around the world at Ripley's Believe It or Not! Odditorium and Louis Tussaud's Wax Museum in San Antonio.

The bizarre and unusual items include specimens from and inspired by the world-famous Robert Ripley, the notorious cartoonist, traveler, adventurer and overall man-of-the-hour in the 1930s and '40s. Ripley began his empire with the cartoon "Ripley's Believe It or Not!" His fascination with until-then unexplored customs and cultures from the far corners of the world culminated in a radio and TV show of the same name.

Now his legacy continues with an interactive museum of one-of-a-kind finds, including shrunken heads, fertility statues and the largest collection of the Berlin Wall in the world. Some of the more notable exhibits in the San Antonio Ripley's Believe It or Not! include the mortician's toe tag from Lee Harvey Oswald, a two-trunked elephant, a 512-pound iron meteorite and the mummified head of American cannibal Alfred Packer.

Equally fascinating is the companion Louis Tussaud's Wax Museum, which features more than 200 lifesize and lifelike figures of celebrities, athletes and newsmakers, including Marilyn Monroe, Britney Spears, David Letterman and Barack Obama.

Located across from the Alamo, Ripley's Believe It or Not! Odditorium and Louis Tussaud's Wax Museum are open daily. Stop by the Ripley's Cargo Hold Store and browse original works of art and fun trinkets.
