The Lila Cockrell Theatre is located in San Antonio's downtown Convention Plaza and serves as the city's premier arts and cultural theater. Named after former San Antonio mayor Lila Cockrell, the theater recently underwent a $25 million renovation project.

The theater was originally designed for performing arts such as ballet, symphony and drama. Its 2,200-seat capacity offers plush seating for guests and a wider-than-average space between rows.

The Lila Cockrell Theatre was constructed for the HemisFiar '68 World's Fair.

She was also instrumental in preserving the culture and legacy that define today's San Antonio, and she played a major role in refurbishing the River Walk.
